The Aurora Borealis, also known as the Northern Lights, is a “natural light display in the sky particularly in the high latitude regions caused by the collision of energetically charged particles with atoms in the high altitude atmosphere” (Wikitravel). A natural phenomenon, the northern lights are an amazing sight to be seen, which is why people from all around the world travel great lengths just for a chance to witness it. The most popular places to see them are in Canada, Norway, Iceland, Finland, Sweden, and Scotland, but it should be noted that sightings are never guaranteed due to the unpredictability of weather. I believe that I can witness them in my thirties once I am financially stable and (hopefully) all of my student loans will be paid off. I would go to Sweden to watch them and while I am there, I will learn more about the vast history of the country. I will go with some of my friends and we will stay for multiple days so we won't miss the lights.
